Who I Am - And Why Lazy Nomad Exists
I didn’t start Lazy Nomad because I wanted to become a “nightlife creator.”
I started it because I used to be exactly where you are now:
A Western guy…
disappointed with routine, drained by a relationship that broke me, stuck in a life that felt too small — quietly wondering if there was more out there than the same arguments, the same cities, the same empty weekends.
So I did what most men only fantasize about.
I bought a one-way ticket to Southeast Asia.
I packed what little courage I had left.
And I decided to rebuild myself — through Thailand nightlife, Vietnam nightlife, the wild streets of the Philippines, and the chaotic charm of Cambodia.
But here’s the truth:
**I arrived with absolutely no map.
❌ No nightlife guide.
❌ No travel safety intel.
❌ No cultural understanding.
❌ No community.**
Just instinct, curiosity, and a willingness to walk into the unknown. And courage, maybe too much of it…
And because of that, I made every mistake possible:
➡️ Got scammed in Bangkok.
➡️ Overpaid in Saigon.
➡️ Walked into the wrong clubs in Manila.
➡️ Misread cultural signals everywhere.
➡️ Trusted the wrong people.
➡️ Ignored the right ones.
None of this was on YouTube.

None of it appeared in “Top 10 Nightlife Guides to Thailand.”
Because the internet only shows the polished, the sponsored, the safe-for-advertisers version of Southeast Asia nightlife.
But the real nightlife world — the one tourists actually walk into — is very different:

Lazy Nomad exists for one simple reason:
To become the nightlife guide I wish I had on my first day in Southeast Asia.
